So i was wondering, is it a good idea to put an engine on a Schwinn World road bike?? I'm worried because of the crazy skinny wheels.

I didn't read those threads Dave just posted, but IMO the skinny tires are real susceptible to damage from road hazards, debris, and pavement cracks.

Them bicycle racer guys fall down quite frequently, with enthusiasm!
The one guy that doesn't fall down is frequently the one who wins the race!

I'd rather not fall down! lol

Auggie had written that he was glad to run a middle width tire when he went to the salt flats for his speed run, because he said the cracks in the salt could have swallowed up a narrower tire!

Perhaps this summer I'll be able to build my speed bike, and I'll use a narrow racer tire, but it will only be rode for a single run, on pavement, for a flying 1/4 mile and in a straight line only. Basically, it will be ridiculous. :)

My first build was a road bike, a very nice fuji, weighed about a pound, ha.
It had extremely skinny tires.
I dont know if it was where i rode the bike, how i rode it, or some other factor, but after i broke in the motor on it, maybe 15 miles or so later, the back wheel developed a drastic wobble, to where it was hitting the frame nearly.
i think that my experience wasnt atypical tho.
I'd say get the fattest tires that the forks allow.
