2-speed for ht bicycle engines?

That would be rad. Ive seen people run 2 sprockets in the back (no jackshaft) but never that. I would think it would stick out a little just like a pull start

It would take some custom machining to make it work, but I see no reason it couldn't be done....except that $1100.00 thing of course.
These work by having a second drive and pinion gear on the same shaft with a centrifugal arm that flies out and engages the next gear at preset RPM's. The second gear runs on a one-way bearing that lets it take over the shaft when engaged and slip when rpm's are lower.

Affordable Go Karts has already tried a 2 speed go kart set up
on their 99 cc Predator race bike.
They decided that it added complexity without much performance gain
so they went back to a single speed jack shaft.

I want this to work SO BAD....
I had an RC truck that I installed a 2-speed on and that thing RIPPED!
Of course, being a .12cc glow engine,
it had about three times the power of a chinagirl. :)

The main problem is going to be the cost. It's more than a whole china girl motor. Another problem is it would probably make a motor bicycle turn into a motor vehicle in most states, because it would likely become classified as self propelled.
