Don't feel bad. They died so I could eat them, and so you don't drive into them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZAjJ-g0UDw MC hits deer at 85, deer split in half by wheel and fork:-|

http://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...annotation_id=annotation_167554&v=ZQRv1H9_v4A Same video in slo-mo, bicyclist coming the other way at 24 seconds probably thinking "Oh dang, glad that I wasn't in the middle of that."

I use deerskin work gloves. They are kind of a funny yellowish color and some poor deer had to die for me to have them, but they are super soft and flexible and they grip good for me. I have never had a slipping problem, but I do not ride in very cold weather, 40's would be the lowest.

Dang! that video is crazy. I still don't understand how he stayed on the bike without crashing while running over that deer! I have always been frightened of hitting a deer at night on a windy forest road, I heard you and your car can get pretty jacked up. But to hit one on a motorcycle seems unsurvivable.

Sorry for getting off topic, I won't do it anymore.

I got a pair of old leather pilots gloves from my grandpa, they're the perfect thickness for winter&summer, but they kind of are a keepsake from him since he passed. They've made me a lot more carefull on rides, as too not mess them up by crashing.

I hit a sparrow one time, right arm. Hurt like a bugger

Swans, AKA "killer ducks" chased me off my first command! Sure it was a paint float operating as a garbage barge but them SOBs hit (peck) and bite like kung foo fighters!

Sorry.

(I really, really hate swans)

I found a pair that works! They have a Nitrile coated palm and inner fingers. These puppies grip. Nothing slips through your hands. They're thin enough that they don't impede your dexterity but your hands won't slip off anything. I found them at Lowe's Home Improvement stores. $7.00. I've ridden with them and they're great gloves.
