I've been seeing a lot of single wall fat bike rims on eBay and other places for relatively cheap, at $50 a piece. Are the wall thicknesses just thicker than double wall rims? Are they strong enough to use for over 9hp?

Single wall style 1:
RRB 3g rims - I really like the copper color.

Single wall style 2:
26x2 57mm silver anodized (eBay)

As you can see the 2nd style has a kind of a U-channel in the middle. The wall thickness of the rim seems thicker than the first style, but it's hard to tell.

Compared to choppersUS rims, these double wall eBay rims 80mm

This is interesting.
The young box kid in me says double wall or downhill mountain bike rim. Just in case of pot holes or when going off roading because the car that you thought was playing chicken with is really not paying attention where they are going.

Then the cheap side says to use the thickest steel single wall only because it's cheaper

I'm down with steel, do you know of any fat steel rims? The biggest I can find are the husky rims at 49mm.
