My bike had been running fine, on my 6th tank of gas at this point suddenly starts missing (mis-firing) then firing very sporadically and within a very short distance barely firing then not firing at all.

I pulled the plug and it appears clean dry and as though it has been firing properly, put it back in and attempted to start but no joy. Pulled the plug again, now a bit wet so I stuck in a fresh plug and still no joy. Checked for spark on the new plug and there didn't seem to be any.

Is there a fairly reliable way to narrow this down to the CDI or Magneto?

Is there maybe some other likely cause that I might be overlooking.

One thing of note is that I did try hitting the kill button a couple times and engaging the clutch and it almost seemed to fire though not quite, like a weak firing.

Any helpful insights or even unhelpful but well intended insights would be appreciated.:-||

I would first disconnect the kill switch, a common problem. Then check all the wiring including inside the spark plug cap.
