Default Tranny needs some work...

I took off my Dax 3:1 "racing" transmission today and had a look inside. My clutch smelled quite "smoky", the bell was covered in black dust and the inside of the gearbox was as gummed up as anything I've ever seen in an engine.

I hosed down the clutch with carb cleaner and I think I am going to just soak the whole thing is gas for a day. What would you guys recommend lubing that internal chain with when it's cleaned up? I have some high quality bike chain lube as well as temperature resistant axle grease. Which way should I go?

I don't currently have any clutch slippage, but that might be a matter of time. What can I do to get some more life out of this thing?

I'm sorry, I thought from the heading that someone with gender issues was unemployed.

Perhaps I should change the thread title to "almost blew a tranny"

Oh wait...

Slightly more to the point, I was quite surprised by the minute chain inside. It's about half the size of a regular bike chain.

Definitely a weak link in the chain (so to speak)...

"Did you blow a seal?" "No, I just ate an ice cream."
