66cc 2 stroke motor
The bearings fell out of the clutch- My question are: Is this normal? What causes this? and How can I prevent this from happening again? I bought a new motor but I would like to rebuild the broken one and put it back into service-Any tips?
The 66cc 2 stroke motors are assembled without much in the way
of quality control so stuff breaks but the press fit of the clutch
separating is rare.
Out of hundreds of motors I have only seen this happen once.
Buying another clutch assembly is an easy fix if you have the special
puller tool that comes in most kits.
The only trick is to make sure you get a replacement from the same
engine seller or make as the clutch shafts can be different diameters
and use different key sizes.
Who made your motor or where did you buy it from?
You could rebuild your clutch with better bearings if it is worth your
time and you have a press.
