Thanks for all the past posts which have helped me figure a ton of stuff out as I'm starting my first build.
I bought this Micargi Tahiti bike ($100 on Craigslist)
and want to motorize it. Not trying to go 100 mph, just want something to go to school/work (5-6 mile trips) Here's the upgrades I have planned for the bike,
New Wald 804 bars
Front and rear caliper brakes
Chrome pedals
Leather saddle
China Girl 66cc engine kit.
Does anyone have brake recommendations that will fit over these fenders ???(after I re-inforce the fender mounts) I found some on amazon from Tektro that are supposed to fit cruisers with 2.125" tires, but the fenders are wider....
Eventually I will upgrade to HD wheels with drum brakes, but for now I want to keep cost down and get the engine built and mounted..
also appreciate any tips from experienced CA bikers about registration / getting my M2 license. Can I show up at DMV and do the skills test on a motorized bike??
