Im just wondering if i have the right to refuse to answer a police if just incase they pull me over and ask my name?

It just came up to my mind earlier and want to know the answer so i came here to ask.

I live in Canada, BC.

Most likely if you refuse to give an officer your name he'll just stick you in jail and wont release you until you tell them who you are or they figure it out. And it could take them days to figure out who you really are.

Not answering to law enforcement is just asking for metal hand cuffs.

Here is some information from the Canadian Civil Liberties Association. Page 17 has the information you want.

Basically what it says is that a police officer can't walk up to you and demand you identify yourself. If you have violated a law then you have to provide proof of identity or they can hold you in jail until they do identify you.
