Any good name brand 2 stroke oil for AIR COOLER ENGINES.

Mix it at 20:1. Run a tank out and go to 24:1.

A lot of guys run 32-36:1 later after a couple hundred miles.

Vary your throttle settings and engine speed often. Avoid long, downhill runs with the throttle closed.

I buy all my oil break in and running from dollar general 65cents for a 3.5 bottle... I have no idea what it is doing to the engine but it is a convenient place for me to pick it up.

A decent oil that doesn't leave too much junk behind when you mix it pretty rich. Some crud will always happen, but an oil that burns clean is better long term. This engines will be rough and crude at first, but they do smooth out and you will feel the power increase with time. You can run a non-synthetic at first, but be aware of the myth that synthetic oil will extend the break in time.

4-5 oz of Maxima 927 or Klotz techniplate per gallon of fuel, both of which have 20% castor (not castrol) oil and 80% synthetic oil.

If you blend your own, I'd do 1 oz of castor (from hobby story not pharmacy) and 2-3 oz of a quality synthetic such as Amsoil per gallon of gasl.
