I was re threading the chain and was turning the nut with the sparkplug wrench. I left the sparkplug in place and was working against engine compression. Then the nut loosened. DId I hurt anything? What torque do I need to tighten it back up?

Put a long piece of rope into the spark plug hole to keep the engine from turning while you tighten up the nut, plus, it's easier to turn the engine while threading the chain when the spark plug is removed, the compression resistance is what helped loosen the nut.

Let the clutch handle out and just hold the bike stationary. With the chain attached to the rear/wheel/sprocket etc its not going any where.
