I've seen a few threads over the past while, and i've had the idea myself as well for a proper electric start system. Now, these engines ARE pretty easy to start, however, I like to start mine up once every few weeks and don't necessarily want to move it out of the garage to do so (Especially when there's a foot+ snow on the ground).
I've cobbled together something and held it on with my hand (No fab done yet, still the idea), and i've managed to create a small starter/generator. I used a small SLA battery for an alarm system or something and it had enough juice to crank the engine. I'll keep this thread updated as I make progress on it.
