Bent some shopping cart sections to fit a plastic universal grocery basket.
Welded it solid to the fork since I have no plans to remove it.


Finally got a skull mounted on the front. Might add LED eyes later on when I'm bored...

That basket will become a wiffle ball over 20.

Your bike is a good candidate for using a rear rack basket- actually the same basket as a removable front basket- atached to the bars with a couple of worm clamps- I think you can still get one on ebay for about $17 shipped, or with the removable bracket for under $25. Won't hold quite as much, but won't catch so much wind either- and not so much welding

I found out with a close weave Bell basket, now only use wire ones

It's attached to the rack. I simply nest another when I shop. Convenient!
I prefer building my own custom racks to adapting factory stuff.
I get satisfaction and a better rack for my needs.
Walk into a bike shop and tell the guy you want a front rack you can carry a welder on....
see what he says. :)
