Have you ever strapped a video camera to your helmet and made a riding video?

These are more up my alley so I can make more videos like this one of me riding my 48cc Cadillac.

Or these for summer daytime riding.

Either delivered for under $50.

Note that Cadillac in my video is what I was riding when I was cut off by a big truck and slammed into it.
I still hurt from that wreck,

To make my riding videos I bolted my digital camera to the top of my helmet. It was awkward to operate and I looked silly as ****.

I always wear riding glasses anyway, with a pair of those I could easily record every journey 'just in case' and wouldn't look like such a fool hehehe ;-}

My little brother has a pair of those, they essentially use the same camera as these 808 keychain cameras

The quality is alright considering the size and covertness of the camera, but I've read of a number of people having issues with the cameras failing within a month of regular use. You can find the glasses for much cheaper on eBay though, and a lot of us take a gamble on the HT engines, so a pair of shades might not be the biggest loss in the world.

Another thing to take into consideration is that the glasses fit awkwardly in my opinion

The vid quality is as good as most I've seen. The only drawback that I can see, at least for me, is that for someone addicted to sunglasses as I am, they might take some getting used to.
Do they come with a tinted lens for us blue eyed fair skinned guys?

Here's the rainy day version or for people that live in the Pacific Northwest:

hahaha, I seen those on Tmarts page too, dandy for scuba diving I would think but just as silly looking riding around with my camera bolted to the top of my helmet unless of course it was raining.

I have no clue how good any of these spy glasses are or if they even record sound. I looked at the Ebay $20+ shipping one, it looks to be same thing but without a memory card or charger, in short useless out of the box but I don't know.

I have bought a lot of high power bike lights from Tmart for about the same price (awesome lights by the way) and been treated well so I can gamble $50 for an easier way to record some of my rides on the high end builds, with the camera right between my eyes it should be pretty nice stable 'rider view' even at 45+ MPH.

I just hope it has sound too, there is a simple eloquence to the sound of a high performance motor running through the gears that makes a video even if you have wind noise.

And of course, the riding commentary ;-}

I got a pair of those sunglasses from China on ebay for I think about $22 two years ago- had to buy a mini SD card then-

It took good video- but a bit hard to be sure when it was taping-

the battery went bad within a year and can't be replaced-

so beware about "built in battery" - it may recharge for awhile- but just count on a season maybe- otherwise there are some really cheap-

and I have a couple of cheap camcorders that use threeAAA bateries too-

I've wanted to fdo something different than just record my rides- LOTS of those on youtube- but haven't had the time
