Hi
I glued a piece of sound deadening material to the right side cover yesterday
Reduced the gears noise a lot (didn't grease it on purpose to notice the difference)
I hope to put rubber pieces between the cooling fins today
Will post my results
Peace

This is the rubber thing

And another view + lead piece to reduce vibration

Vibrates less with the lead pieces, fixed as close as possible to the mounting points
And noise is reduced
Hope it helps
Peace

I eliminated a lot of the clutch cover noise by making a gasket to go between it and the engine. I used a self adhesive foam tape made for the HVAC industry by Virginia KMP Co. Their catalog number is K-501. I cut a 1/8" strip and applied it to the edge of the clutch cover after sanding it to a uniform finish on a sheet of 180 grit paper layed flat on the floor. The foam absorbed a lot of the rattle and noise that comes from that aluminum cover. The product is easy to use because of the self adhesive backing that holds it firmly in place while you reattach the cover. Good luck.
