I'm shopping around for an internally geared bicycle hub equipped with a drum brake, to be used with a Sick Bike Parts shift kit. I would like to stick with Sturmey Archer (though not dead set on it). It seems that the 3 spd (X-RD3) has been used with great success by one of the moderators here, but how about the 5 speed (X-RD5)? I came across one post but the member mentioned he had trouble with shift adjustment, and gave up. Check out the gear ratios on both 3 and 5 spd:

3 Speed (X-RD3):

• Overall Range - 177%
• Gear 1 - 75% (-)25%
• Gear 2 - 100% Direct Drive (Gear 1 + 33%)
• Gear 3 - 133% (+)33.3% (Gear 2 + 33%)

5 Speed (X-RD5):

• Overall Range - 256%
• Gear 1 - 62.5% (-)37.5%
• Gear 2 - 75% (-)25% (Gear 1 + 20%)
• Gear 3 - 100% Direct Drive (Gear 2 + 33%)
• Gear 4 - 133.3% (+)33.3% (Gear 3 + 33%)
• Gear 5 - 160% (+)60% (Gear 4 + 20%)

Appreciate anyone's experience with a Sick Bike Parts shift kit and ANY internally geared hub! Thanks a bunch guys.
