This has me steamed, to put it lightly.
TX has banned the sale and registration of the Polaris Slingshot trike.
Reason for the ban was given that the Slingshot has an automotive seat, rather than
a saddle that must be straddled.
By that reasoning, the Elio will not be legal either.
However, the upright, tandem seating layout of the Elio could make it easy to modify with a saddle.

You can ride a Slingshot on Texas roads that is registered in a different state, You cannot buy or register a Slingshot in Texas.
You can buy most any firearm you want in Texas.

I could rant for pages and pages about how the political orientation of Austin is far different from the rest of the state, but I don't want to ruin a nice Friday night.

Update - Connecticut has joined Texas in banning the Polaris Slingshot trike.
I don't have a reference link, but I have read about it on two different sites.
Hard to imagine Connecticut and Texas agreeing on many things.

I was driving down FM1960 in Houston yesterday and a Polaris Slingshot passed me. Somebody forgot to tell the driver that they are banned in Texas.
