I got into electric bikes in 2009. I started with lead acid but I just made the leap to Lifepo4. Anyway, just wanted to say, that there are deals to be found on the internet if you are willing to look. Some lithium batteries can be bought for nearly as cheap as some lead acid. Some of these companies buy large quantities of lithium and then when they lie around for too long, they drop prices and sell the remaining stock.
I have a 5303 crystalyte front hub motor. I'm at 36v right now but am going to 48v here in a few weeks. I can't wait for this snow to melt so I can start riding again.
