hey guys,gettin ready 2 start my second build and have some gear questions.i'm workin with a diamondback edgewood 700c hybrid.i've ordered a 66cc china,should i get a 40 tooth or what?

well it depends on what you need out of it if its speed go with a gear with less teeth if you want to climb hills and have more torque get one with more teeth.

40T is a good all around gear, if you have lots of hills a 44T may be a better choice depending on how steep and long the hills are, I use 36T or smaller on all my bikes, I weigh 215lbs and have some small not to steep hills I ride and mine all pull me just fine, as bill2781 has mentioned, it really depends on if you need speed for riding in area with small short hills or you need pulling power for steep hills and are not as interested in high cruise speeds.

sounds like you may be served well with a 36T, they normally cruise at 30mph pretty easy on a 26" bike when all is tuned in good, my huffy will cruise 30-32mph with the 36T.
