Cold starting issues

Hello fellow MB's. I recently bought a bike with an 80cc 2-stroke engine. I don't know much about these things but am learning fast. So here's my issue.

When I try and start the engine when it's cold, it bogs down, sputters and sometimes does not start. It does start upon the second attempt.

Any idea's what might be causing it not to fire up right away when the engine is cold?

Happy Motoring!

When cold my bike takes about 20ft of pedaling to start. This is my start procedure. Turn choke all the way on, lever up. Push the primer button on the side of the carb a few time and pedal away. Once it fires I will open the choke to 3/4 to 1/2 and let it warm up a bit and then take the choke off all the way. When it is warm out I do the same procedure except as soon as it fires I take the choke all the way off.

Tickle it a little more.
I find on cooler days, the choke requires a little more attention, and sometimes (most always) I "pedal assist" the engine while it warms up.
