A Good Engine for a Motorbike

Here are some pictures of a couple of engines I have. They are briggs and Stratton FH models. One is a 1928 straight fin and the other is a 1927 slant fin.
These engines have one exposed push rod. They made this engine in an industrial model that had 2 exposed push rods. These engines are 3/4 hp and had a kick starter. The straight finned one is not as valuable to the engine collectors and can be bought for about 200 to 300. There is a you tube video with the titled Antique Motorcycle Replica #2
This guy used one of these engines and built a nice bike.

Tom, thanks for this thread we needed a vintage engine list thread and you are the man with quite a bit of knowledge regarding these engines IMO.

Saw the T.V. show last night American Pickers, and the engine with the Kick Starter was one that Frank bought!

Thanks crazy horse for adding the you tube link. guys when you get to the video click on George Kulisiewicz and look at his other video this is a very nice build.

Crazy horse Tom Seiber does amazing work, I need to start making castings it makes making the second one a lot easer. thanks for his link and all the other info. that you post Tom

I believe the briggs fi is the military version of the fh? And a nother good one would be a briggs WM or WMB. They're not as cool as the fh, but they're kick start. And they usually can bepicked up for around 80$ in my area.
