I've got another Tandem bike question and I figure those here certainly know alot more then me about this. I'm looking at the timing chain in the captains position which of course runs to the stker location. The stoker location has all of the sprokets set up for the front and rear derailer in a typical multi-speed set up. Can I simply mount the 2 stroker in the captins spot directly to the timing chain (which is already on the left side - google for a mantis or any other multi-speed tandem to see what I mean)? Thus, getting an instant 'shift kit' benefit. What are the objections or other considerations that I'm missing?

I'm by no means an authority on these questions but there is some stuff I am curious about. Does the timing chain have a free-wheel that will allow the motor to run it without rotating the pedals?
I think after another post or so you will be able to post links and a pic as well as further info on the particular bike would be most helpful.
