I did a little research and didn't find much.

I'm buying a bike w/ a 7 spd Nexus hub on it and I'm pretty sure it is of no real use for what I'm doing.

Can these hubs be driven on the left?

There is a vendor that makes custom sprockets. His name escapes me.
You could also use a jackshaft kit from sick bikes to use the pedal chain.
Good luck.

I have a bike with the Nexus 3/coaster brake. It has not been motorized yet, but I do plan on powering the left side. I am planning on having Jim/Manic Mechanic make me a Sprocket Adapter.

If you choose to use a jackshaft setup and power the right side. I have heard that the nexus planetary gearset is a little weak, and does not do well with being powered.

Thanks guys! I'm a little leary of internals, I ran a sprocket on the disc mt of a Sturmey Archer 8 spd and it didn't last 30 miles. ' guess I'll come up w/ a different rear hub.
