The Robin EHO 35cc 4-stroke engine still runs as good as the day
when I installed the engine kit. Amazing little 4-stroke. The kit came
with a #12 gear that was satisfactory with level ground and small
hills. The larger hills it would struggle to go up without help peddling.
I eventually went to the #11 gear and liked the performance of going
up the larger hills with no problem. The only drawback of this gear was
top speed of 20 mph and noticably use of gas consumption. Next I tried
the #13 gear and recived the results I was looking for.
While I was still using the #12 gear, I also purchased a burly cargo
trailer. I particapted in the plant a row for food ministry in my garden
for master gardeners program. I choose muskmellons as my plant a row
project. Success in late August with bumber crop of 325 large size mellons
in a 100 foot row. I used my burly and Gebe to start making the deliveries
of the mellons in about 70 pounds load at a time. The loads took a tole on
my snap on belt ring and the teeth of the heat treated #12 gear wore and
wropped to the engine side. It developed belt slap and finally snapped the belt.
Lesson learned is that GEBE set up is not for pulling heavy loads with a
cargo trailer. A $100.00 later with replacment parts all is well.

I could not be happier with all 3 GEBE bikes Ive built. Tanaka 33cc, Tanaka 40cc and Honda GX 35 35cc. How much does you belt tension knob bounce when riding? Just curious as I try to determine what is acceptable.

That's great testimony for the Robin EHO. I hope to get one with the Staton transmission in the spring. I appreciate the gearing information as there are lots of hills here, too. Please explain more clearly how the #13 gear was OK or good on steeper hills. You said the #12 was weak on hills and required peddling, but the #11 gear was stronger on steep hills, but slower on top.

Wouldn't the #13 gear be even weaker on steep hills and require even more peddling? I'm confused. Thanks in advance if you can clear that up.

Ride on.
