I just finished rebuilding my motor today and it has a loud pinging throughout the low RPMs and a lot of heat. I could smell the paint off my exhaust. I didn't run it high RPMs because for fear of damage my new build. I started out replacing the whole top end because the top ring broke and scratched up the cylinder walls and piston. Then I figured might as well change out the bearings with some ABEC spec ones while I'm at it. It all went together good, everything went together real easy. The piston edge is even with the deck and there is no problem when I turn it over by hand. The head I bought was a slant head as apposed to my old one. So I tried swapping it with my old one and got the same results. I'm wondering if it has to do with the timing but I don't see how I could have messed that up since the magnet is keyed to the crank shaft.
