I currently have a Viza V2 40CC Gas scooter. It has no exhaust currently and can be fairly loud at times. Trying to determine if it is worth putting an exhaust on the little 2 stroke engine.
I am mainly interested in softening the noise a bit, and perhaps gaining some extra power / throttle. Will an exhaust make the sound softer dramatically or just a bit? Will I see an increase in performance and reliability of the engine?
If so can I use any exhaust that will fit, or is there a specific calculation used to make one based on the engine type? (Like a speaker box)
Someone local is selling a Tomos moped exhaust for the A55 engine I wonder if that would work as long as the holes were it connects matches up???

Thanks for any help and advice!!

Any two stroke will benefit from a tuned exhaust. Yours is no different.
Find a pipe with the same exhaust bolt pattern that will fit and go for it!
Be aware you may have to do some modification to get it to fit unless it was made for your application.
The engine does not know or care what pipe it blows into...a better exhaust will make quite a difference.
