Either fashion an offset key, file the key way of the magnet rotor slightly or do like I did and remove the key altogether and just tighten down the nut. Since the magnet is not under any stress it stays put well enough...don't try and torque the nut down too much though as you may twist the crankshaft nub which is not good.
