Genesis Onyx hub crapped out

It's going to be really hard to find a coaster brake hub in 48H. Tandems aren't typically coaster and BMX with 48H hubs tend to be used for trick riding and jumping. Coaster brakes aren't used on bikes like that because they are dangerous. Occasionally the old Suntour 48H coaster hubs show up on eBay, but I haven't seen any in at least a year. They are rare and sometimes expensive.
You might have better luck contacting Genesis ( http://genbikes.com/ ) and asking for a replacement. You're not the first with problems with the Genesis coaster hub, and I doubt you'll be the last! Perhaps you should have spent the $30 extra and got the Genesis Astra instead. Better brakes, no coaster.
