I found that just because your bike never gives you any trouble, doesn't mean it ain't brewing. I thought I damaged my nexus because of a few badly timed shifts, that jerked, ker-plunked from 1st to second because it was skipping, catching....but upon disassembly, low and behold, after 2000 miles my gear had some slight wear....ok, bad wear. New one on the way.
