The right side cup needs to turned clockwise to loosen it. You are just making it tighter the direction you are turning it. Left hand threads, clockwise to loosen. I got the bastard out by making a special tool out of a nut that was a little to big to fit into the race. Then I ground down the flats so I could get the nut into the race like this. Then all I had to do was turn it out with a wrench. It was just lucky the race had 6 splines and nuts have 6 points.

Can anyone please tell me what to torque the bolt holding the crank arm on. I don't want to break it off.
