i'm trying to lower my motor in the frame to get my chain to sit right

should i use the rail that came with the universal motor mount
picture below


or could i be ok not using it like shown below?

If you don't use the saddle, you risk bending the mount with the holes downward towards the tube, possibly stressing it.
