CARPOOL to SoCal Race Sat Oct 20th 2012 at Grange Race Track.

Please post here if you can take other riders and their bikes in
your truck, car, etc. Maybe you have a trailer with extra room.

Would help if you say where you are leaving from.

What day and time you are leaving. Friday or Saturday?

How many people and bikes you can take.

Also you can post if you need a ride with the
same info and if you can help out with paying
for the gas to get to the race.

Only 23 days to go!

Only 17 days to go!

Nobody looking for a ride or willing to offer one? :)

Grangé Motor Circuit
20455 Central Rd.
Apple Valley, CA 92307

Directions:

1) 15 Freeway North past Victorville.

2) Exit 157 = the Bell Mtn / Stoddard Wells Rd off ramp and go North East
(There are 2 Stoddard Wells Rd exits. The second is Bell Mtn = 157 )

3) Do NOT make any turns off Stoddard Wells Rd until you reach Central Rd.

4) Go right (South) on Central approx 1/4 mile and you are there.

PS: Do NOT use your GPS or Google for directions as it will route you up Central from the south which is not accessible due to rail road tracks.

I am looking for a ride. I live in Hollywood, CA. I can definitely pay for gas/transportation costs, as well as buying lunch or whatever.

Hi Gilbert
Great to see that you are coming to the race again!
You have been missing out on the Fun!
Hopefully most if the Briggs gang will be there. :)

Are you bringing your Briggs bike and riding on the track?

I am probably leaving Alhambra on Friday and camping over to
Sunday late so I don't know if that would work for you?

Yes, I wanted to bring my Briggs powered bike and "race it". I can't leave until Saturday morning. My bike has a busted pulley, but it was running pretty good before that. I'm putting on my racing handlebars and tires while I wait for a steel pulley in place of the busted cast iron one. It would be cool to get a ride, but I am not really counting on it.

Thanks for the offer Neil,

Gilbert

Yes, Bob offered me a ride, and I do plan on riding my bike with the 4-strokes. I just injured my left shoulder (bleeding muscle) at the boxing gym this Monday, but I hope to recover enough to race on Saturday the 20th. Should I send you a check or something? I can't even remember the fees.

If you click the race thread link below in my signature all the info
is there on the first page.
You still have # 79 and everyone is paying at the track.

Going to do a raffle based on your wrist band for a free lunch
from Jim Grangers new Pizza joint for everyone, spectators and
track riders.

I just checked the 10 day weather forecast and it's going to
be a perfect clear day at Grange at only 81* on Saturday 20th.
79* on Sunday.

Man, that picture brings back memories. That was the most fun I had in such a long time. I remember extinguishing an electric bike that caught on fire. I also remember endlessly messing with my carb adjustments to compensate for the altitude, draining my gas tank because it was newly made, and did not have a proper in-tank screen. I also remember being literally the slowest bike in the mid-range and up 4 stroke races.
It was freakin' great! Leaning into the turns deep and pushing the entry speed into the tight turns was completely amazing. This experience can not be reproduced on the street and I thank Neil for making it all possible.

See you in the pits,

Gilbert
