In my hometown of Greentown, IN, there's quite a culture of old school hot rodders and drag racers. I grew up around a lot of them as my dad goes way back in the Gasser days. I've heard a lot of stories and seen plenty of photos of the hay days. One of those stories I always remember hearing was about a man who built a Cushman scooter that ran 90mph in the 1/4. A man by the name of John Eads. I was finally able to meet the 88 year old scooter hot rodder a month ago! Here's a recent story telling a bit more about him and his machine. The just of it is that he ran an alcohol "injection" system on the scooter by filling a hot water bottle with the fuel and sitting on it to "pressurize" it into the carb! Unbelievable!

Great story. Thanks for sharing.
Sort of makes you want to treat us old guys with a little more respect, doesn't it? :)

That's crazy awesome! "Sitting on the fuel bottle for more fuel pressure"

You could sell some of his tricks to the guys doing the races, heh heh

Thanks for sharing, for sure!
