Chinese engine actually 80cc

I'm buying a chinese bicycle engine from eBay ( motor only)
and the seller claims it is actually 80cc, not 66. The description says they're engines have a bigger piston and use a different cylinder head. Has anyone heard of these engines or used one? Thanks

Seen that pic on that eBay posting and the seller Rose is a liar.
They are selling ~ 66 CC motors basically the same as everyone else.

The piston on the right is a 66 CC.
The one on the left is a 48 CC
The middle one is an uncommon 55 or 60 CC.

Welcome to the motorized bicycle world where sellers make all kinds of bogus claims like they make 6 HP or their Chinese motor is really made in the USA.

That ad has been floating around here confusing new builders for a couple of years.

Like MBR said, don't fall for it.

The 80cc designation came about because someone, somewhere decided to add the combustion chamber volumn to the actual displacement of the engine. That isn't how total displacement, cubic centimeters, is calculated. The cylinder bore diameter and stroke of the piston are the only two measurements used to get displacement.

Many sellers use the 80cc claim in their ads so Internet search engines will group them when a person is looking for bicycle engine kits. Most of them have gotten away from this practice, or include a disclaimer, but there are still a lot who haven't hoping to fool new and inesperienced buyers. There are no true 80cc Chinese bicycle engines.
