I am new and looking for any dealers that sells kits for mountain bike close to Novato, CA...trying to decide whether to use my mountain bike for a build or buy a cruiser from walmart. I ride 2 miles to work but i don't need the exercise since i work out at work. any suggestions for a good, decent priced, and dependable engine would be great. thanks and happy cruising.

Welcome to the forum. I've motorized both, and I prefer the beach cruiser. My mountain bike steered too quickly and was a little tall for me at stoplights. A bike that fits you well for pedal power may feel too tall when motorized.

i'm not a huge fan of cruisers but i think they're easier to motorize then a mtn bike, i think clearance issues would be even harder to work around on a mountain bike.

but it is nice to be able to back pedal to get yourself ready to start pedaling after stopping at a light, cruisers usually have coaster brakes so that's not really an option.

anyways, welcome to the forums.
