I must say that posting this is pretty much a joke (because of lack of interest, lack of dedicated participants and the general "all talk and no action" of motorized bicycle followers of the world.......followers being builders, riders, racers, just interested and wanna bee's.

So what this pertains to is the actual racing of motorized bicycle's and such. The "such" would be the many aspects of what kind of builds people bring to the races and the reasons for their wanting to race.

It has been so far as I see it, the electrics want to beat the gassers.....the mopeds want to beat the bicycles......the GoPeds want to beat the bicycles (and any two wheeled machine with larger diameter wheels than them) and so goes the how do you categorize this mob of a bunch of misfits?

I have an idea, but that's just "my idea". So before I say another word, what can you bring to the table too make a possible racing scene thrive and be fair to all those who participate???

This is not meant to be a flame war of any such, so if you don't race or intend to participate.....please just read and refrain from posting any non- constructive criticism. Please.

I think mopeds, gopeds, and any non-bicycle vehicle should have their own classes, and stay out of our way. :)

But i also think having a trophy dash type race, lumping them all together would be interesting, but as a sideshow, not a main event.

The race you had with the goped was interesting, but not exactly "fair."

Doubt we'll ever be racing bikes against gopeds in normal competition. Safety being one reason. Gopeds are sketchy... I mean... twitchy... err... they handle very differently, and I'd hate to plow into someone who's just standing up on a little toy when I'm trying to go around a corner.

Mopeds, with the exception of Christoph and a few others, I mean like stock mopeds, aren't designed for hi speed handling, and most of them get in your way.

But, as someone else will point out, or he might just be thinking it to himself, ya gotta pay the bills. If the motorbike crowd keeps dwindling, you gotta take what you can get.

Maybe we can get some rascal mobility scooters or the segway crowd involved. ;)

You guys really need to work on the awards ceremony.

This is Scott from Silver State getting a trophy for a bike at a local car show:

The Gopeds do not race with the motorized bikes
and never have.

The Gopeds do have their own race classes.
2 Goped race classes and a GoQuad class.

I have no idea where you came up with this?

There were only a few mopeds at the last race and there haven't
been any mopeds at any other races for a few years now.

If anyone in the Midrange or Unlimited race classes objects to having
Mopeds race with them let me know.

There were no mopeds at the last race you were at and 3 separate
Goped classes in between the 4 motorized bike classes which gives
the motorized bike racers a little more time between races because
the Gopeds only race 4 laps on the half track so it goes fast.

You blew your bike up early on race day so got drunk.
How drunk were you? :)

I didn't say "at the last race..."

I just meant in general. Mopeds (if they show up) should be in moped classes, bicycles should be in bicycle classes. That's my opinion.

And, I was pretty drunk. After my bike blew up I had nothing else to do. But that was nothing compared to saturday night in barstow. I was lit like a cheap christmas tree. I was the karaoke champion at "Hooz on first," an awesome bar in downtown barstow.

.
Are you coming to the Oct 17th race?

There are now 3 dedicated China girl classes so these never had any mopeds

The Unlimited class may have some fast mopeds and seeing that you have never raced in the Unlimited class you don'r get an opinion there. :)
It's only up to the racers in that class.

I can'r see ever having a separate moped class. They have their own events now and there is no more track time left in the day.

Nice snide comment.......the April and Oct races are always much bigger
than the May race.
There is gonna be a really big turn out on Oct 16th/ 17th.
Got lots of new people coming from all over.
The St Louis crew will be there again, the DTM guys, maybe even a few Florida racers.
They don't hang out here and some of them aren't even on the big FB group.

I'm not trying to start anything. Scotto was asking for opinions, so I gave mine. No big deal. The races are what they are. I like having fun and seeing my friends.

I'll probably be at the next one. I put my racer back together with a stock engine, rear mounted carb, and an expansion chamber Simon made.

It's not that fast, but fast enough to have fun on.

Still have plans to build a midrange (or unlimited, depending on how fast it goes) bike with a minarelli moped motor, but haven't had the time or funds to build it. Maybe next year.

Just for the record, this post is not a complaint of any kind to the races I attend, period. It's just about how people feel about what they're getting into and what it would take to get motorized bicycle racing a little more popularity. That's all. All two-wheeled vehicles (and 3&4 with pedals) should have some interest here......right?

Letz RACE!

I checked the weather the other day, said 70's and rain. Now it says upper 80's and sunny, possible thunderstorms on friday, 92 on sunday.

Hope the weather holds. .
The weather forecast is not very accurate over 10 days out.

Looks like absolutely perfect weather at about 80 before and
after Sat the 17th Oct at Grange Motor Circuit with low wind too! :D

8 day count down to racing, actually 7 days cause there is going
to be a big crowd practicing on Friday 16th and camping over.
