Do I need a special chain for my motorized bicycle?

I am a newb and I just had a question. do I need a special or different chain? I just bought one from the local bike shop and didn't even think that there would be a different type of chain. I tryed to use the chain I bought but it didn't fit right. thnxdance1.shft.

For the motor drive to the rear wheel, I use #41 chain. $10 to $14 for 10 feet at any implement or farm type store. I have had zero problems since going to this chain. It's just a speck wider and it accommodates a small amount of sprocket wobble. It's very good chain for a MB.

Just noticed the OP asked this question on 6/22/12 and has not replied to this thread. Just in case he forgot:

Why did you not use the chain that came with your engine kit? Typically they come with a #415 chain that if installed and maintained correctly should suffice.

As was said above, a good alternative is the #41 but you won't find it at a bicycle shop. Ace Hardware carries it as well as Grainger, Tractor Supply, and other industrial suppliers.
