Yeah I think with the rising cost of gasoline here in the states we are going to see more and more e-bikes. The only advantage for the commute is that with an powered bike you can get to work without the sweat from conventional biking.

the big thing i am reading lately is all the weight loss, lowering of blood pressure and all sorts of things attributed to e-bikes. my wife laughed at it and so did i actually. then when riding about 15 miles today i realized how much i pedal and also messing around picking tracks to ride on bad section of the road and things like that. shoot i been getting a pretty good work out without even thinking about it. a heck of a lot more then driving a car. next time you all ride think about it on the way and you will be amazed how much exercise you really get. a couple of the ebike manufactures advertise their bikes as health equipment.
