Has anybody ever build a gas/electric hybrid? I was just thinking of the benefits of such a bike while looking at the Porsche 918.
Imagine a hybrid gas/electric bike non-plug-in, that gets all its power from gasoline and charges the battery while rolling with the gas motor and braking, and helps with acceleration.
I was thinking you could use an electric motor to help a small gas engine with starts and hill climbs, thereby increasing MPG and performance.
In CA, having a hybrid would let me ride on bicycle paths, by shutting the gas engine off.
Thoughts?
