It's nice of you to post a greeting (is that the right word?) to him here.

I lost my Dad almost a year ago. His decline and death were not too quick and not too slow and pretty gentle. So his death didn't come as a big shock. It was expected. We were all pretty lucky with that one.

But even though I'm grateful for that, I'd give my right arm to have a mere conversation with him.

No doubt you're going through something similar. And we know that there's nothing we can do to help. But you're not alone.

Deepest condolences, KC. Coming up on 2-years since my Dear Old Dad left us. The pain will pass, but the love still grows. Incidentally, I got in to motor-biking soon after his passing. My Dad and I are mechanically inclined engineers, and I take comfort in using his tools to work on my China Girls. It's like he's helping me...very therapeutic. Here's to you finding comfort in your family and friends. Peace.

Thank you for the kind words.

My Pop's had cancer and came to live with my wife and I for a couple months when he needed 24 hour care before we had to move him to hospice for his last week so I had been preparing for a long, it just didn't help.

Pop's was an aircraft mechanic in the service.
I build motorized bicycles from my home shop so when he was here he would get strong and lucid enough at times to sit in the shop with me, I like to think he approved ;-}

My deepest sympathy to you KC. I remember when I lost my Dad, he died a young man only 60. I think i was about 30 something. He had a heart attack, was pornounced DOA upon arrival to the hospital. I still miss him.

So cool you got some shop time with your dad. Not much better than that. We can over complicate our lives, but the pleasure of passing time, chatting, working, suggesting ideas in the in the shop is hard to beat.

May your pop be in the great shop in heaven.

KC,

Sorry to hear of your Dads passing. No matter how long you have to prepare it's never enough.
He was very fortune to have you as a son and you were very fortunate to have him as a father.

Steve.

Sorry to hear you lost your dad K.C. I lost my dad in 1983, it will still hurt from time to time so what I do is think about the fun times we had. It wont take long and you'll be smiling. Greg

Sorry to hear of your families loss K.C.,
I have not lost my parents yet but it is appointed once for all of us, and that is just a fact of this life, but I stand firm on what has been given to us by our creator and it always brings me comfort to know and truly believe that my kinfolks that have left this world and passed to the next are more alive now than they ever were here and they still love us just as much as we love them, they already know what it is like on the other side of this life and we still have our fond and many memories of them, the good and the bad times, which actually seem to all be good ones when we miss them, thank you for giving all of us here a chance to honor the life of your pop and have a chance to let you and your family know that we are with you in mind and spirit while ya'll go through this time of loss.

God Bless
Shan
