intake side of the cylinder is open at bottom dead that allows fuel to be forced out of the cylinder before reaching the combustion chamber vacuum created by more efficiency in this instance will equate to greater percentage of fuel that will have to be ignited before reaching the end of the expansion chamber in theory and in theory the correct expansion camber will equate to nearly the same results..

Not to go too far off subject on someone else's post, but using a finned header along with a small scoop to route some cooling air to the back of the jug then thermotec wrap the pipe and the heat problem would be solved, One could also convert a jug and head to liquid cooling if they really Really wanted to run a reverse jug, or even a liquid cooled head and air cooled cylinder would run plenty cool enough. Like I mentioned before, I don't have any interest or reason to run a reverse jug, but if somebody wanted to or had to because of clearance issues, there are lots of ways to ensure everything stays cool, and those who are capable of reversing a jug successfully would also have the skills to add more cooling or convert to liquid cooling.
