Hi There,
I build a felt twin and replaced the couster brake for the Grubee HD axle in order to have both the brake and the sproket at ones.
I have no breaking power at all. If I Take the whell form the floor and use the break it works but when I'm on the bike it stops working.
Also even so I used the spring that comes on the kit, When I pull the lever it stays pull!
PLease help me, what did I do wrong?
Thanks

Band brakes are super simple in design , they work great , and not much can go wrong with them , other than the band wearing out .

my guess is , if you have it installed correctly , is that something is not right with the cable .

check :

did the brake cable become untwisted a bit when you put it through the cable locking screw on the brake . ( if a strand unwound a bit , it could be binding in the end of the cable casing ... which might explain why its not releasing )

is you cable seated snuggly at both ends in the little adjuster cups ?

does your cable have a kink ?

are all the screws tight ? do you have the keeper secured to the frame ?

pictures really help
