Sorry to hear that: mine has always run right up 7000, but
no further. I think you need a carb kit, Walbro, k10-wyb.
That and a new filter should do it. I presume you've followed
the break-in and maintenance sched. in the manual. There
are videos detailing rebuild carb kits. Don't mess with it 'til
you're sure you know what you're doing. Otherwise find
a small engine repair guy. Reed carbs don't like ethynol gas!
Agricultural coops usually carry non-ethynol gas. Any gas
with much more the 10% will damage your carb.

The bolts are a bit too long, maybe an 1/8"?
Put a washer or two under the bolt heads or cut them down.
You nailed it. I just got the motor unmounted and backed off all of the studs about 1/8". Tried gently pulling the rope and it's now spinning.
Thank You very much. I just gotta put it back on now and I should be okay I think.

Thanks Again!

Guess I'm stuck with a 7000 rpm top end. Thx for clearing that up.
Glad it was simple fix, Fonz.

Here's my slosh-proof tank; it's an old 1 gal. sprayer bottle that
had a shoulder strap. I drilled a vent hole in the handle portion &
the fuel grommet directly below on the tank. this pic was prior
to drilling. hose shown was a mockup later changed.

I have a Robin Subaru 35 that will rev over 9,000 +++ if you are going downhill
and rev 8,000 easily on the flat if you don't have a head wind.

I have ridden a GX 35 axle mount but didn't abuse it. the Honda 35 should rev even
higher than the R/S if it will pull the gearing or downhill.

The GX 35 redline is 7800 like the Subaru, there is something wrong with yours
but I did hear that they come with too small of a carb?

Ya think being 6'4", 270 has anything to do with it? I can go
pretty durn fast downhill. Then too, I recently put on a new belt
& clutch after 1500 mi. I know from experience that the belt has
to stretch & soften up before it works right. I 'spect the clutch
needs a bit of breaking-in as well. I just climbed off of the Gx35
bike after an 8 mi. ride It seem to be pulling stronger now & going
some faster. It still bogs down if I try to twist it past 23 mph, but
hey, it's only a 35cc 4 stroke. That ain't too bad, considering the
neighborhood kids call me Bigfoot. I sure that little motor's doin'
the best it can under the circumstances.
