I had 2 grinders under-foot in the shop, so went to a sheltered workshop reject bin and rescued a DoMore chair. They are top of the line quality and I got all sorts of neat brackets and bolts off it. I sawed the pedistal in half and slipped a split tube over it and a long tube over them. Then pop-riveted. Next, a piece of plywood from a kitchen cabinet for the base. Next, will gas weld the bottom and then silver-solder the top since the seat bracket appears to be cast iron. Gee, now I have use of my green wheel for sharpening carbide tools. The castor retainers left 1" holes in the base, just right for rubber stopper feet to keep it from walking around and making racket.
