bigger back sprocket?

Hey Guys, Still new to this. Am I right with the bigger the backsprocket the slower the top end? But more torque on take off.
TRUE ,,YOUR BACK SPROCKET GOVERNS YOUR TOP END ,,LIKE A REAR IN A CAR ,,anyone tells you they exceed 30 mph ,,isn't,, not with a 44 tooth on the back ,,a 36 will get u there dance1

Agreed. You have that correct. Smaller sprockets increase the max speed while the larger increases torque and acceleration.

My HuaSheng49cc with Qmatic drive easily exceded 30 MPH during the last 'Dago ride with a 56 tooth sprocket.
It isn't even broken in yet. Top speed was 34 MPH on flat ground.
Now that the bike has a 60 tooth rear sprocket I don't know the top speed, but I did have it at 31MPH down hill with a tail wind.
