I'm using a weed eater featherlite motor as either a friction drive or chain drive. The problem i'm having is that the motor quits running when it is not constantly in motion. The motor runs great so I know there's nothing actually wrong with the motor.
Is there some kind of a clutch or something on these weed eater engines that basically puts the motor in neutral so it doesn't need to keep moving to stay running???
Or am I only going to be able to use the motor once I start pedaling and pick up speed?
Any comments would help thanks

you can use a hinge on the motor mount and a roller drive over the rear wheel.
when you stop lift the engine off the wheel.
or you can buy a weedwacker or simular engine that has a centrifugal clutch.
