What are you guys views on carbon fiber mountain bike parts. It seems that a lighter bike will accel easier and put less strain on the engine. Kinda like car wieght reduction. Do carbon fiber parts such as... seat post, goosenecks, handle bars, crank sets, ect.... hold up no a motorized bike? Just curious how others feel about these type of upgrades...

Weight reduction is essentially free hp. I don't see any reason those parts you listed wouldn't hold up to the rigors of motorbiking. If dept store bikes are takin' the abuse then high end mtb parts sould be fine. I work w/ carbon fiber and it is amazingly strong. Keep in mind though that a little extra weight will help w/ stability, vibration and momentum.

The only thing I have that's carbon fiber is my forks (Manitou Dorado DH) and they have been holding up. I check them regularly to make sure everythings ok.
