Trying to tune the bike a bit. The spark plug and motor have less than 2.5 hours. The spark plug is not white, carmel, or black colored...... but instead a true looking red/rust color. Im on Opti 2 at 40:1 still breaking in with 92 octane on a 66 cc slant head. Runs fine!

Any ideas?

92 octane? A waste of money. Maybe the additives in the high octane gas are coloring your plug? How about the opti, what color is it?

I use 92 octane and my plug is a nice black colour. Isn't that Opti-2 oil not meant to be used that rich?

Cant get it to run rich to save my life!

I heard from a friend (high end mechanic) tonght it is probably the additives in the 92 oct. that might be causing it. Will try 89 or 87 next time. The opti 2 is blue.

Thanks

Have been pondering this all day since we talked. I'm thinking that maybe using the tank while the filler valve is loosened (Cracked)...is it possible that the gas has come in contact with the primer coat? Look around the filler neck. The primer used is rust colored.
