MBR, budget is not my primary concern, as anything over 35cc in Oregon requires VIN, title and registration. Thanks for the leads; I am looking for a kit that mounts inside the frame, like the two-stroke kits, not on the axle side or over the rear wheel.

That's a tall order, Bill! To my knowledge no one sells a kit like that, as the engines of that size aren't really designed to be mounted on a horizontal plate. They use the bolts around the PTO shaft for mounting. Not saying it can't be done of course, but you will definitely have some difficulty finding a center-mount in-frame kit like that!

Well, why didn't you say so? :D
In that case there really isn't a kit unless you want a complete bike
from Helio and you are willing to take a risk of not getting it delivered
and having a bad customer experience.
Helio wants a lot of money for their R/S Q Matic in frame too.

Mount a 35 cc motor on a plate in frame and attach a pocket bike chain
gearbox or make an adapter and use a Q Matic.

It has been done before by Cam????... the guys that made the V twin 2
stroke.

I attached a pic. the GX 35 cc in the pic has a shifter system but it
isn't necessary.

If someone was to come up with a right-angle bracket that bolted to a typical 4-stroke motor mount or even a shift kit mount, it wouldn't be too difficult to mount one of those 35cc or smaller engines in the frame. Unfortunately, I don't have the means at the moment to undertake such a task, or I'd be on it!

Nice find Greybeard, I see they sell one with a 3.1:1 reduction gear, too:

Might be fun to tinker around with!
I had a great lightweight bike that I thought I might try one of the motors on this page on:http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.885035/sc.12/category.27867/.f

I just bought another bike frame, actually to build strong electric bike with, that would still make for a good motorized bike. The electric will be a lot heavier, but will have 3-3.5hp estimated. Still thinking about a lightweight shifter bike though.

Slap one of these muthaf***as in it and gear it to your liking. Plenty of power and parts are cheap!

Anyone know of a kit this size that is NOT friction drive?
Why not order a sheet of stickers from one of the online sign companys.

Honda GS 35
sn 1763348
35 CC

and stick it on a 49 cc motor, that way you can buy a kit and be on the road fast.

That is what I have done with my hf 212 engine. Once I removed all of the sheet metal, tank, charcole filter, muffler, air box, and fan/recoil start the engine looks small. Put the new stickers on both sides of engine and have had no (legal) problems

That is a very nice build! Was that from a post o something that you made? I would love to fiddle with the parts and build one if you have any links or how to info on that. I imagine a staton gearbox would also suffice for the build.

You could make it yourself for a lot less and even use the double
chain pocket bike gearbox. I don't think that the 35 cc Honda
would tear it up if you pedaled a bit.

I would definitely argue against changing data or falsifying engine info. Find a way to do it legal and avoid complicity.
Wise.
