At first thought, this looks like a pretty good idea ... but then again I might worry about the safety of an important package. Maybe UPS should get the consent of the sender and/or recipiant before using a bike.? And, if it saves UPS money, maybe they could offer a cheaper rate for "bike boxes"?

like the post office flat rate boxes make them a special siZe. But in a town like mine with lots of hills it just won't work but it is a good idea. I think if my ebike would do fifty miles a charge or I could pick up hot batteries here and there, bike courier might be cool. Small package delivery in town.

Sorry madam you package is delayed because we have a new pony express style delivery we use bikes instead of horses.
